Russia may again target Ukraine's energy infrastructure. The US is already looking for ways to protect itself.

This was announced by State Department spokesman Matthew Miller. According to him, American officials are already discussing with the Ukrainian authorities preparations for possible Russian attacks.

“The Russians may well do it again”

Matthew Miller said that on the morning of November 13, Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke with the head of the OP Andrei Yermak. In particular, they talked about what the United States could do together with Ukraine to strengthen infrastructure before winter.

We, of course, last winter saw how Russia tried to destroy energy facilities in Ukraine. They could very well do this again, so we talked about steps they can take to prepare for and respond to this,” the State Department spokesman said.

Miller also noted that the State Department makes it clear that Washington intends to continue to support and assist our state. In addition, he emphasized that the United States will never make decisions regarding Ukraine without Ukraine.

“Of course, we will talk about Ukraine – the war in Ukraine and how we can best defend Ukraine. We always do this with partners,” Miller added.
