by alex

The United States of America for the first time imposed sanctions against two organizations that transported Russian oil sold above the ceiling price. These restrictions were previously established by the G7 countries and the European Union.

This is reported by the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Department of the Treasury (OFAC).

According to the US Treasury, the SCF Primorye tanker was blocked, which transported oil for more than $75 per barrel. The registered owner of the vessel is Lumber Marine SA, based in the UAE.

Another such ship is Yasa Golden Bosphorus, which is owned by the Turkish company Ice Pearl Navigation Corp. It transported Russian crude oil worth more than $80 per barrel.

According to the US Treasury, both ships called at Russian ports and used American service providers in transporting Russian oil.

Recently, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky confirmed that there are the first sanctions from the United States against those companies that violated the world-established ceiling on the price of Russian oil. In his opinion, it is necessary to deprive the Russian Federation of the opportunity to receive finance from energy resources.
