The US Attorney General announced the creation of a team to investigate Russian war crimes in Ukraine. Specialists will work to detect and punish all criminals.
Merrick Garland said this during his unannounced trip to Ukraine on June 21. According to the prosecutor, the team will be led by the most famous “hunter” for the Nazis, Eli Rosenbaum.
As a whole, the group consists of experts in investigations related to human rights violations and war crimes.

There is no stash for war criminals. The US Department of Justice will seek to prosecute those committing war crimes and other atrocities in Ukraine, Garland said.

67-year-old Rosenbaum has been working in the US Department of Justice for 36 years. He previously served as Director of Strategy and Policy for Human Rights Enforcement. The official helped to deprive or deport more than 100 accused Nazis.
In the United States, Rosenbaum is called “the legendary Nazi hunter.” He led the investigation that, in 1986, exposed the Nazi past of the then UN Secretary General Kurt Waldheim.
