US President Joseph Biden ruled out the possibility of supplying Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets. Nevertheless, the United States continues to strongly support our state.
During the briefing, First Deputy Press Secretary of the White House Olivia Dalton commented on Biden's statement, Channel 24 reports. Note that some American journalists suggest that the US president simply did not hear the question.
The US plans to announce a new package of military assistance to Ukraine
Commenting the US President's statement that the United States does not plan to transfer F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, Dalton noted that she had nothing to add to Biden's comment.
However, she added that our state has already been sent a significant amount of arms and aid to help with current battlefield needs in response to Russian aggression.
You know, we sent artillery, ammunition, armored vehicles. We communicate regularly about their needs on the battlefield, and I expect that we will soon announce additional security assistance,” the official said.
Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov also reacted to the words of the US President. He noted that each aid to Ukraine went through several stages:
- “No”;
- “We will discuss and explore the possibilities”;
- “We are preparing the crew” ;
- “Arrival”.
“So it was with HIMARS, with the same Bradley. Remember the story with the German Leopard, it was also “No” at first, and now We are a tank coalition. Therefore, I believe in the next “Aircraft Coalition,” the head of the defense department said.
Pay attention!After his statement about the fighters, Biden said that he would soon have a conversation with President Vladimir Zelensky.The topic will be Ukraine's requests for weapons.The date of the conversation is still unknown.
