The UN created a council for international regulation of AI, a Russian woman joined it

The United Nations has created an advisory board to conduct analysis and develop recommendations on the international governance of artificial intelligence.

This is stated on the UN website.

The council included 39 representatives of government agencies, scientific groups and business. In particular, officials of well-known companies such as Google and OpenAI. In addition, Russian Anna Abramova joined the council. She is the director of the Center for Artificial Intelligence at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, which trains diplomats for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“The body will offer different perspectives and options on how artificial intelligence can be governed for the common good, aligning international co-governance with human rights and the Sustainable Development Goals,” it said.

It is not yet known how the recommendations developed by the UN council will be consistent with other initiatives in the field of artificial intelligence regulation.

Earlier, the Ministry of Digital Development and the American company Palantir announced the creation of a new product based on artificial intelligence.
