UN Deputy Secretary General on humanitarian issues, Martin Griffiths assessed the likelihood of successful negotiations between Ukraine and Russia on a ceasefire. In his opinion, in the coming weeks, there will be no need to count on a halt in hostilities.
A ceasefire is not on the horizon right now, it may happen in a few weeks,” Griffiths said.
He also added that he will travel to Turkey to meet with Erdogan, where they will discuss possible ways to promote the peace process. He said that Ukraine accepted most of the proposals on humanitarian issues, but Russia did not give any answer.
