The Ukrainian Olympic team, which will compete in the Summer Olympics in France, won the friendly tournament Tournoi Maurice Revello on French fields.

In the final, the blue-yellows beat the Ivory Coast U-20 team after a penalty shootout with a score of 2:2 (pen. 5:4).

Ruslan Rotan's team was the first to open the scoring in the match against the Ivorians thanks to a goal by Denis Shostak.And later they doubled their score after a successful counterattack — scored Maksim Khlan after an assist from Danylo Sikan.

Even before the break, the Ivorians scored one goal after a goal by Patrick Watrou. And in the second half, taking advantage of a mistake in the defense of the Ukrainian team, Watrou scored a double.

After the stoppage time, according to the tournament regulations, the teams had to determine the winner of the game in a penalty shootout. During the sixth attempt, Kirill Fesyun blocked a shot by Luc Zogbe, and Arseniy Batagov did not miss from the eleven-meter mark.

It should be noted that the Ukrainian Olympic team won all four matches in Group B and advanced to the final of the competition from first place. Rotan's team defeated Indonesia U-20 (3:0) and Italy U-21 (4:0) with crushing scores, and also beat Panama U-23 (2:0) and Japan U-19 (2:1).

Recall that at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, the blue-and-yellows will play in the group stage with the teams of Argentina, Morocco and Iraq. The first match is scheduled against the Asian team on July 24.
