The Russians were unable to transfer these soldiers to other fronts, in particular near Pokrovsk and Novopavlovka.

— The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue the defensive operation in the North Slobozhansky direction and are effectively destroying the enemy, who continues to attempt assault operations in the border zone of the Sumy region, — the General Staff noted.

Now the situation has stabilized, the enemy's advance has been stopped.

Ukrainian soldiers managed to liberate the village of Andreyevka. Our units also advanced near Alekseyevka, pushing the enemy further away from Sumy.

The Russians are sending their best units to this area: marines, paratroopers, and the most combat-ready motorized rifle troops.

They actively use long-range artillery, aviation and attack drones.

At the same time, the occupiers are trying to expel Ukrainians from the Kursk and Belgorod regions of Russia.

As noted by the General Staff, Ukrainian soldiers are effectively destroying enemy soldiers and their equipment.

In particular, in June, Russian losses in the northern direction amounted to about 9,310 soldiers: more than 4,470 were killed, about 4,800 were wounded, and 42 were captured.

Over the course of a month, 423 units of Russian equipment were destroyed, including:

  • 6 tanks,
  • 20 armored vehicles,
  • 89 guns and multiple launch rocket systems,
  • 3 anti-aircraft mounts.

Ukrainians strike Russians at a distance of up to 100 kilometers, including Russian territory.

In June, 16 enemy command posts, 8 observation posts, 6 places where soldiers were concentrated, ammunition depots, equipment and drones, repair bases, and an oil depot were destroyed.

In total, since the start of the Kursk operation in August 2024, the Russians have lost more than 75,860 people in these areas, including 1,037 prisoners.

Also, 2,848 units of equipment were destroyed: 99 tanks, 709 armored vehicles, 322 artillery systems.
