Denmark delays transfer of F-16 to Ukraine. The country's Ministry of Defense named the reason for this decision.

The point is that a number of conditions necessary for the transfer of aircraft to Ukraine were not met. Before this, the Pentagon said that Ukrainian pilots could already complete training on the F-16 by the end of 2024.

Why the transfer is being delayed F-16

Journalists citing the Danish Ministry of Defense said that the country delayed the transfer of F-16s to Ukraine by the second quarter of 2024, that is, for six months.

They explained that the reason was that they had not fulfilled a number of conditions necessary for Ukraine to be able to use the transferred combat aircraft.

In addition, it is unclear exactly what circumstances caused the first schedule to fail. It was planned that Ukraine would receive the first six fighters after the New Year.

The Danish Ministry of Defense said that among the factors influencing the delays was the training schedule of Ukrainian pilots, the schedule of which depends from technology and weather.

In addition, work continues in the international air force coalition to ensure the creation of the necessary material and technical base and infrastructure in Ukraine , – said the Danish Ministry of Defense.

According to them, six Ukrainian pilots are being trained in Denmark.

Expected , that during 2024 eight more F-16 aircraft will be sent from Denmark to Ukraine, and five more in 2025. Whether these deliveries will be delayed is still unknown.
