The militants of the banned international terrorist organization “Islamic state” (IG) attacked the prison in the city of Jalalabad in Afghanistan. On it informs Agency Associated Press.
On 2 August a suicide bomber in a car drove up to the gate of the building and caused an explosion, after which gunmen opened fire on the guards of the prison. The armed confrontation lasted 3 Aug. As a result, according to the defence Ministry of Afghanistan has killed at least 50 people. The official representative of the Governor of the province of Actaully Khogiani reported 29 dead, including civilians, prisoners, guards and security forces of Afghanistan.
It is also reported that during the attack of militants in prison were about 1.5 thousand prisoners, including several hundred members of the IG. Some of them escaped during the attack. Most of the extremists managed to catch.
The publication suggests that a terrorist attack could be connected with the murder of Afghan special forces, one of the senior commanders of the IG.
Earlier it was reported that the head of intelligence branch “Khorasan” is eliminated in Afghanistan. Assadullah Orakzai was killed in Nangarhar province on the border with Pakistan. It happened in a special operation on the evening of 1 August. The IG also confirmed the death of its member.
