The Swedish government clarified that Ukraine will receive two aircraft of the ASC 890 radar reconnaissance and control aircraft. The total cost of the announced package is 1.16 billion euros.

The package includes two airborne surveillance and control aircraft (ACS890) that will help Ukraine detect targets at long range, noted Tom Samuelsson, a spokesman for the Swedish Prime Minister.< /p>

According to him, the day before, Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson presented these aircraft directly to the Ukrainian Ambassador to Sweden.

What kind of planes are these

• For the first time in 33 years of independence, Ukraine will receive long-range radar detection aircraft. • The aircraft is equipped with an Airborne Surveillance and Control (ASC) 890 radar, the power of which allows it to detect targets regardless of weather conditions conditions using the S-band with an active electronically scanned antenna, which is designed using modern elements based on gallium nitride.
• The radar can detect targets over an area of ​​up to 500,000 square kilometers and at altitudes up to more than 18 kilometers. Detection range is about 450 kilometers. In conditions of strong radar interference (that is, the operation of enemy electronic warfare equipment) – up to 350 kilometers.
