As law enforcement officials reported, the man was arrested on June 14, 2024 in Prague on the grounds European arrest warrant. After Czech authorities approved the extradition request, the accused was handed over to German authorities on July 10.

He is accused of the violent murder of nine-year-old Valeria, who went missing June 3, 2024. The girl was found lifeless in the forest near Debeln on June 11, 2024. The accused, who appeared on Wednesday before the investigating judge of the Chemnitz district court, did not comment on the charges, the report said.
