The strike of Polish carriers continues: waiting time in line reaches 210 hours

by alex

The strike of Polish carriers has continued on the Polish-Ukrainian border since Monday. As the Polish RMF 24 reports, they are not going to fold it.

The carriers are demanding, among other things, the introduction of commercial permits for Ukrainian companies to transport goods, with the exception of humanitarian aid and supplies for the Ukrainian military, the suspension of licenses for companies that were created after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, and the conduct of their inspections.

Now at the Korcheva checkpoint the queue is more than 100 hours, and at Grebenna – up to 140 hours.

The commandant of the Chelm police, Eva Chizh, said on Sunday that the line of trucks at the Dorogusk checkpoint is about 28 km and reaches the village of Bezek Dembinski. There are approximately 1.3 thousand vehicles in the queue. The estimated waiting time is 210 hours.

In Korcheva, protesters are passing 15 trucks per hour, although on Friday it was only one truck per hour.

Despite such small concessions, Polish carriers do not intend to give up and will continue their protest.

On Monday, a three-person delegation will gather for talks with representatives of the Ukrainian government. This was reported by Tomasz Borkowski, a member of the Committee for the Defense of Transport Carriers and Employers, as well as the chairman of the strike in Korczewa. The meeting should take place in Doroguska at 12 o'clock.
