Veterans should feel gratitude for their feat
In his speech to the veterans, the head of state stressed that every hero should feel the gratitude of the state and people for their incredible feat.
Veteran policy is a priority and independent direction of state policy. Not an attachment to something, not on a residual basis, but a priority and independent, Zelensky said.
He added that all government policy towards veterans should be based on interaction with heroes. They should not only see what steps the state is taking for them, but also directly participate in the development and implementation of specific solutions. Already today, there are more than 500 thousand combatants in Ukraine, and over time this figure will grow, which will make Ukraine's veteran community almost the largest in the world.
Zelensky stressed that the state and business should do everything to so that veterans can reintegrate into civilian life. Heroes will receive assistance in obtaining education, employment and building their own business. He has already signed the relevant law, which develops a system for the transition of heroes from military careers to civilian life.
“Relevant initiatives are also being implemented at the level of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, but there should be more, much more, and they should be all-Ukrainian, so that in every region of our state there is a modern, convenient and effective rehabilitation system,” the head of state added.
