Spokesman for the State Emergency Service Alexander Khorunzhiy spoke at the briefing in more detail about the consequences of the Russian attack.On October 17, one of the Russian drones hit a residential building in the Shevchenkovsky district of the capital. The cornet noted that the 1-4 floors were destroyed. As a result of the impact, several fires appeared at once.
Rescuers extinguished the fire on an area of 60 square meters. 19 people were rescued. Five were injured, including two rescuers.
According to the press officer of the State Emergency Service, the rescuers released the bodies of four people. In total, as a result of the kamikaze drone attack, 5 people from Kiev were killed. There are three women among them.
The drones also set fire to two buildings
During the Russian attack, one of the administrative buildings of the capital was engulfed in flames. According to Khorunzhy, the fire broke out on the 10th technical floor.
As a result of the kamikaze drone attack, the 8th-10th floors were damaged. Rescuers eliminated the fire on an area of 250 square meters. Fortunately, there were no dead or injured.
Another fire broke out on the roof of an office building, again, in the Shevchenko district of the capital. Employees of the State Emergency Service put out the fire in a ten-story building.

- On the morning of October 17, the invaders attacked Kyiv with 28 Iranian kamikaze drones. Our soldiers managed to shoot down 23 drones. Patrol policemen landed one of them from small arms.

- Prime Minister Denys Shmihal said that during the attack, drones damaged energy facilities. Therefore, some settlements have been de-energized in the Kiev region.
- The drones that attacked the Ukrainian capital were launched by the invaders from the territory of Belarus. Also, part of the drones flew from the temporarily occupied Crimea.
