State Bureau of Investigation employees, with the support of border guards, detained a serviceman who was attempting to organize the illegal transfer to Moldova of soldiers who had voluntarily left their units.

In April 2025, the defendant himself decided to flee abroad and approached a border guard with an offer to help cross the Dniester in a rubber boat, passing on the duty schedule data. He offered $2.5 thousand for assistance.

However, the border guard reported the illegal offer to law enforcement. On June 18, 2025, the defendant was detained while handing over the money.
The detainee was informed of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – providing an unlawful benefit to an official holding a responsible position.
The court chose a preventive measure for him – detention with the possibility of posting bail in the amount of 302 thousand UAH. The sanction of the article provides for up to 8 years of imprisonment.
