Weather has a significant impact on the fighting of any army in the world. Neither tracked nor wheeled vehicles will be able to drive through the mud. Therefore, it is not worth talking about any offensive actions on land.
This was announced on Channel 24 by a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war, reserve major Aleksey Getman. However, he named the likely dates for the counter-offensive of the Ukrainian defenders.
When the weather becomes an ally
It is possible to move relatively calmly on land after warming, Aleksey Getman noted. It could probably be possible as early as mid-April. However, there are places where equipment can get bogged down even in summer.
“There is clay terrain in the Donbass. Water doesn’t soak in there, it dries up. Therefore, in the summer there were places where the equipment got stuck at the bottom and it was very difficult there. There are certain nuances of an offensive in these places,” the reserve major explained.

Will foreign technology help
Oleksiy Hetman recalled the footage with equipment that is already in Poland and should go to Ukraine. According to him, the Ukrainian military has already undergone appropriate training and is able to manage it.
“Our people have already been trained and can use the same Leopards. That is, we are ready to carry out offensive actions with these weapons,” Hetman confirmed.
When exactly can the counteroffensive begin?
Based on data from the Ukrainian GUR, as well as estimates from British and American intelligence, Oleksiy Hetman names approximate dates for April-May. There is also an option for the end of May – the beginning of June.
Before that, we need to withstand the blow of Russia, hold the defense, bleed the enemy, and then we are preparing for a powerful offensive. What it will be, where exactly we can assume, but I think this is already spelled out minute by minute in our General Staff. We are all waiting for this.
