Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny spoke about how preparations for a full-scale invasion continued. The general kept all the processes secret in order to keep the effect of surprise for the enemy.

The Commander-in-Chief spoke about this in an interview. Valeriy Zaluzhny launched not only the training of troops, but studied the enemy.

How Ukraine prepared for a full-scale war

General Valery Zaluzhny noted that the smell of war Until February 24, it literally took place in the air, so we had to prepare. Ukrainian military leaders redeployed and camouflaged military equipment, withdrew troops and weapons from bases, moving them around the country. This applied to aircraft, tanks, armored vehicles and anti-aircraft batteries. Preservation of the latter was critically important for Ukraine, as it allowed to maintain control over the sky.

But Valery Zaluzhny kept all this preparation a secret and there was a simple reason for this – the effect of surprise for the occupiers.

I was afraid we'd lose the element of surprise,” he says. “We needed the enemy to think that we were all stationed at our usual bases, smoking weed, watching TV and fasting on Facebook. – stressed Zaluzhny.

In addition, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also studied the strategy of the enemy – in particular, he knows well the so-called “Gerasimov Doctrine” and, in general, everything that the Chief of the Russian General Staff Valery Gerasimov ever wrote about the conduct of the war .

In a conversation with American journalists, the general made it clear that he expected more from the Russian army in the war against Ukraine.
