The Slovak government did not approve the 14th aid package for Ukraine worth €40 million

The Slovak government has not approved a new military aid package for Ukraine. It was supposed to be the fourteenth, and its cost was more than €40 million.

According to the TASR agency, the proposal for assistance was prepared by the former leadership of the Slovak Ministry of Defense.

The new aid package was to consist of four million units of 7.62 mm ammunition, 5,172 units of large-caliber ammunition for 125 mm guns, 140 missiles for the Cube air defense system, eight mortars and 1,200 mines.

Help to Ukraine from Slovakia

Since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion, Slovakia has provided thirteen military aid packages to Ukraine totaling €671 million.

In August, Slovakia transferred the first two Zuzana 2 howitzers to Ukraine. The production of 16 self-propelled guns for the Ukrainian Armed Forces was jointly financed by Denmark, Norway and Germany.

In October 2022, it became known that Denmark, Norway and Germany would finance the production of 16 Zuzana-2 howitzers for Ukraine in the amount of €92 million.
