Also recently on social networks, the person involved published a message with a screenshot of a message from a pro-Ukrainian student in temporarily occupied Crimea, which indicated the sender’s name, surname and other personal data.

Such actions of the ex-people's deputy became the reason for the persecution of the student by the Russian special services.

Proceedings were opened against Farion under four articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

  • Art. 161 (violation of the equality of citizens depending on their race, nationality, regional affiliation, religious beliefs, disability and other grounds);
  • Art. 435-1 (insulting the honor and dignity of a serviceman, threats to a serviceman);
  • Art. 163 (violation of the confidentiality of correspondence, telephone conversations, telegraphic or other correspondence transmitted by means of communication or via a computer);
  • Article 182 (violation of privacy).

The Security Service initiated a psychological and linguistic examination of Irina Farion’s statements. The pre-trial investigation continues.

Let us remind you that on November 14, students of the Lviv Polytechnic National University held a rally demanding the dismissal of Professor Irina Farion from the educational institution.

During negotiations with students, the Western Military District stated that now there are supposedly no legal grounds for Farion’s dismissal, but the day before, a commission was created to study and analyze ethical and moral aspects, which will meet on November 23 to make a decision.
