The Security Service of Ukraine neutralized an extensive intelligence network of the FSB of Russia, which was coordinated by an adviser to the Kremlin-controlled head of the temporarily occupied Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov.

19 enemy agents were detained in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odessa, Zaporozhye, as well as in the Dnipropetrovsk and Vinnitsa regions, the SBU said in a statement.

What did the enemy agents do:

  • Agents corrected the rocket attacks on Ukrainian cities and reconnoitered the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and also collected information about the places where Russian prisoners were kept.
  • In addition, they were engaged in the selection of data on members of the national resistance, clandestinely opposing the invaders in the temporarily occupied territories of southern Ukraine.

The criminal group was led by Aksenov's adviser

During the investigation, the SBU established that the enemy group was led by an FSB agent in the Kherson region. He handed over the intelligence received from the informants to representatives of the Russian special services, including an adviser to the “Chairman of Crimea” Aksyonov.

It was established that the intelligence network was formed by two FSB personnel for intelligence and subversive activities against our state. The group consisted of people from different regions. The transfer of information was carried out through “connectors” who were in the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region. Closed telegram channels were used for communication, the SBU added.

Among the information transmitted to the occupiers were electronic maps with locations of places of mass stay of people, critical infrastructure facilities and Ukrainian military units.
