Security Service officers detained a foreign cargo ship and its captain, who was helping the Russians export Ukrainian grain from the temporarily occupied Crimea.

The ship sailed under the flag of one of the Central African countries. Its crew carried out an order from Russia – exported Ukrainian grain from Crimea.
As the investigation established, during 2023-2024 the ship repeatedly moored at the seaport of Sevastopol in order to pick up looted agricultural products.

In order to hide criminal activities, the captain of the cargo ship from time to time turned off the GPS tracker and entered false information into the log of the ship's routes and stops.
Thus, he helped the occupiers export multi-ton shipments of Ukrainian grain, which they stole from the temporarily occupied territories in southern Ukraine.
The captain of the ship turned out to be a citizen of one of the countries of the South Caucasus. The ship's crew also included 12 more foreigners.
Punishment for the captain of the ship who helped the Russian Federation steal grain
During the search on board the ship, documents, navigation aids and other material evidence of criminal activity were found.
The ship's captain was informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 332-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the procedure for entry into and exit from the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine).
The issue of choosing a preventive measure for him is being decided. The captain faces up to 5 years in prison.
The defendant’s vessel was towed to the Odessa region and arrested.
However, the investigation continues to identify all persons involved in the crime.
