Cyber specialists of the Ukrainian Security Service prevented the supply of servos for the production of 1,600 Shahed drones and 4,000 chips for Russian cruise missiles.

Ilya Vityuk, head of the Department of Cybersecurity of the SBU, spoke about this on air at the national telethon.

— We are blocking the supply chain of components for Russian weapons, — he outlined the key tasks of the department in a full-scale war.

Cyber specialists are also working effectively at the front to destroy enemy electronic warfare and electronic warfare systems, as well as to intercept enemy drones coordinating missile and artillery strikes on Ukrainian soldiers.

— Cyberwar is not something abstract and virtual. Every repelled attack is an unallowed attempt to harm our state and people. Imagine: the Russian special services hacked the messengers of one military man and thus found out the exact place and time of the planned gathering, and as a result – an arrival and dozens of dead, — Vityuk indicated.

Russian cyber attacks in full-scale war

Since the beginning of a full-scale war, the Russian Federation has launched large-scale cyberattack operations against Ukrainian government servers, large businesses and private accounts.

These cyber attacks had different purposes: reconnaissance, destructive, psychological, or a combination.

The SBU managed to stop 10 thousand cyber attacks over these two years, most of them — at the embryonic stage.
