For months, Ukrainian special services have been preparing and carrying out operations to destroy oil refineries and oil terminals in Russia. Our drones reach regions of the aggressor country that the enemy previously considered reliably protected.

These “sanctions” from Ukrainian forces are already producing results. About this 24 Channelsaid ex-SBU employee Ivan Stupak, noting that Russia has begun to reduce the export of petroleum products.

We need to continue to apply blows

According to the latest data, in January 2024, Russia reduced the export of petroleum products, in particular gasoline – by 40%, diesel fuel – by 23%.

These are the long-term consequences of attacks on Russian oil refineries,” noted the ex-SBU employee.

In addition, from March 1 and for 6 months, Russia will introduce restrictions on the export of petroleum products outside its territory. This does not apply to countries that are part of the Eurasian Economic Union, in particular South Ossetia, Abkhazia, Mongolia and Uzbekistan. Russia will continue to fulfill its obligations towards these partners.

The SBU and GUR prepared and used naval drones against the Russian fleet and carried out a number of brilliant operations. Also, Ukraine has now accumulated a large number of Shahed-type drones, as Minister Alexander Kamyshin spoke about, and therefore, hypothetically, in the coming months we can deal serious blows to the Russian fuel infrastructure,” Stupak noted.

The consequences of attacks on Russian refineries will be of great importance and powerful effect. Thanks to this, the export of petroleum products is already declining, which means that less money will go to the Russian budget, there will not be enough funds to pay salaries to mobilized and mercenaries, to purchase various military equipment and the like.

< p>“Therefore, we cannot stop and we must continue to constantly strike at oil refineries and oil terminals so that in the European part of Russia they do not work for at least several months,” noted Ivan Stupak.

  • The authorities of the aggressor country from 1 March bans the sale of Russian gasoline abroad. The restriction will be in effect for 6 months. The Russian government explained that these actions should “even out the increase in demand in the spring and summer, as well as during planned refinery repairs.”
  • At the same time, such a ban in Russia carried out in September 2023. The explanations for the introduction of such restrictions were similar – “stabilization of the situation in the domestic market” and “reduction of prices for consumers.” However, analysts explained such restrictions of the Russians by a shortage of fuel due to the repair of oil refineries and war expenses.
