The IAEA mission is trying to get to Zaporozhye NPP. The occupiers are trying to complicate this in various ways.
Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets confirmed that the IAEA mission will stand in line for a pass to Energodar. According to him, the Russian occupation administration of Zaporozhye is deliberately delaying the time for the mission to get to the ZNPP.
The next mission from the free Ukrainian territory is planned to be allowed into the city of Energodar only after passing the “control” in the general queue tomorrow. the occupiers refuse to provide a “special pass”, in fact creating artificial barriers to admission,” Lubinets said.
According to him, the Russian military deliberately threaten the mission participants with shelling, blaming the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The IAEA mission is in fear
As Lubinets says, the members of the mission are in an atmosphere of fear. This affects the time of stay and the quality of work in Energodar, as well as the impartiality and independence of the participants.
Lubinets noted that the group of experts was formed at the highest level and is headed by IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi. But Russia still got its way and among the 13 representatives there is no one from the United States and Great Britain.
“The softness of international institutions allows Russia to increasingly increase the degree of tension around the largest nuclear power plant in Europe. Nuclear terrorism carried out by the aggressor country, continues to pose a threat to the whole world,” Lubinets said.
He expressed hope that the IAEA mission would reflect all this in its report. The head of the IAEA is confident that the mission at the Zaporizhzhya NPP can be carried out safely.
Lubinets stressed that we cannot guarantee that Russia will not offer to organize the departure of the participants of the IAEA mission through a filtering procedure, under which, according to “general rules”, everyone Thousands of Ukrainian citizens who want to leave the occupied territory get there every day.
