Collaborator and Gauleiter of the Kherson region Vladimir Saldo said that Russia is again preparing to capture Kherson. In addition, the head of the occupation administration threatened to seize Nikolaev, Odessa and Izmail.

Military expert, instructor pilot, reserve colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Roman Svitan shared his opinions on this statement with Channel 24 . According to him, Saldo switched to Russian “hawthorn” and is experiencing problems with the perception of reality.

Two occupier scenarios that failed miserably

As a military expert said, the Russians actually had the opportunity to capture Odessa, but a year and a half ago at the beginning of a full-scale invasion. Such a scenario would have taken place if the 70 thousand occupation army had been redeployed from near Kyiv and Sumy to the Kherson direction, subsequently moving through the Odessa-Kyiv highway to Transnistria.

Thanks to Saldo, they missed this chance, because they did not want to go to Transnistria and somehow reach Odessa, but wanted to immediately take Kyiv. However, the “will” broke down and they definitely lost this opportunity,” explained the instructor pilot.

Also, the Russians could go to Odessa when they were on the right bank of Kherson in 2022. At that time, more than 25 thousand enemy paratroopers were stationed on the right bank. Despite this, the Russians did not have enough strength, means and mechanisms to bypass Nikolaev and move to Odessa through the southern ports.

“Now they definitely don’t have the strength and means not only to move to Kherson, Odessa or Nikolaev. They don’t have the strength and means at all to hold the left bank. The Russians understand this very well,” Svitan noted.

The Russians started to feel jittery

Svitan noted that the occupiers are deploying the 104th Guards Air Assault Regiment at the entrance to Crimea – along the Perekop Isthmus and Lake Sivash.
