The Russians planned to create a “volunteer” battalion in the occupied Kherson region. They even named it after Margelov and brought in a Russian military man to manage it.
Deputy of the Kherson Regional Council and military TRO Sergey Khlan told about this on the air of Channel 24. He noted that this battalion seemed to be recruiting, but there were no results and no one physically saw it.
“Under the conditions that we are currently experiencing, it is impossible to talk about some kind of mobilization. Let them distribute more weapons to our guys in the occupied territory. They will help our military de-occupy Kherson and the Right Bank as soon as possible,” Khlan emphasized.
What information do Ukrainians hear in the temporarily occupied Kherson region
A deputy of the Kherson regional council commented that information propagandists, of course, work – they publish newspapers and distribute leaflets around the city. In addition, there are 3 television propaganda channels and telegram channels.
But people still have access to truthful information, access to information from the territory controlled by Ukraine, – Sergey said Hlan.
“I communicate with people who are in the occupied territory. This communication is daily. However, I want to note that for the last 3 days there has really been a big problem with the Internet – messages are coming, there are no conversations yet,” Khlan added.
In his opinion, the invaders did it on purpose just before the forced evacuation-deportation. However, access to information, although weak, is still there.
