Russia intends to go beyond beyond Izyum to capture the cities of Kramatorsk and Severodonetsk, say British intelligence officers.
These cities are key for the Russians, because they will allow them to establish military control over the northeastern Donbass. It will also create a bridgehead to cut off Ukrainian forces in the region.

- Donetsk and Tauride : assault operations continue in the Popasna area. The enemy is also advancing in the area of Shedrigolovy. The Russians tried to attack in the direction of Orekhov, but this was not successful.
- The defenders of Mariupol are holding on to Azovstal. The enemy is inflicting crushing blows on the plant.
- Slobozhanska direction:Russians shelled Kharkov and the village of Protopopovka. Air reconnaissance was carried out in the area of Kutuzovka and Aleksandrovka.
- Southnobuzh direction: Russian troops are shelling Ukrainian positions, trying to destroy fortification equipment. They use tanks along almost the entire line of contact.
- Severskoe direction: Russia has deployed its units at the automobile checkpoints of the Bryansk region – in Novye Yurkovichi, Pogor and Lomakovka .
- Bessarabia direction: the situation is tense, but under control.
