“Yesterday, October 10, Russian terrorists abducted Valeriy Martyniuk, Deputy General Director of the Zaporizhzhya NPP for personnel, and are holding him in an unknown place, probably using their methods of torture and intimidation,” the agency noted.

This is not the first time staff have been tortured

According to representatives of Energoatom, the occupiers seek to obtain data on the personal files of Zaporozhye NPP workers in order to force work for Rosatom. The invaders are using torture on nuclear scientists.

We appeal to the IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi and the entire world community with a call to take all possible measures to immediately release Valery Martynyuk from the captivity of the Russian invaders and return him to his official duties, Energoatom said.

They added that a nuclear safety zone should be created around the Zaporozhye NPP. In addition, the station should be under the control of Ukraine.

Previous kidnapping

Russian assassins at the beginning On September 30, Igor Murashov, the general director of the Zaporozhye NPP, was kidnapped. They detained him, blindfolded him and took him away in an unknown direction.

Subsequently, on October 3, information appeared that Murashov had returned from captivity. This was announced by the head of the IAEA Rafael Grossi. Currently, the general director is located on the territory controlled by Ukraine in the External Crisis Center of the ZNPP in Zaporozhye. Information about his condition and conditions of captivity is not disclosed.
