In the temporarily occupied city of Pologi, Zaporozhye region, the Russian military blew up a pedestrian bridge. The mayor of the city explained that there were two reasons for this.

The occupiers blew up the pedestrian bridge in Pologi on 28 December. Local residents told the mayor of the city Yuri Konovalenko about this.

What is known about the damage to the bridge

At first, Konovalenko was told that the Russians had blown up the railway bridge. But later it became known that they blew up the footbridge over the railroad tracks.

We received information early this morning from the locals who had burst cities. The information was different – from the fact that the railway bridge had been blown up, and then later we received information that the occupiers had planted explosives and blew up the pedestrian bridge across the railway track. – the mayor said.

Why would the invaders destroy the pedestrian bridge

Yuriy Konovalenko suggested that the Russians destroyed the pedestrian bridge so that people could not climb it and make phone calls to the Ukrainian-controlled territory. And also so that the locals could not correct the movement of their troops, including by rail.
