The invaders are not advancing on Bakhmut yet/General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The Russian army is still trying to capture the entire Donetsk and Luhansk regions. But on May 29, no movement of the occupiers in the direction of Bakhmut and Slavyansk was noticed.
Russian infidels continue to try to move south of Izyum deep into the Donetsk region – towards Slavyansk. But on May 29, they did not make a single confirmed advance, although they were actively fighting there.
Russian troops unsuccessfully attacked Bogorodichne, about 30 kilometers southeast of Izyum.
Russian troops additionally fired on Ukrainian positions southwest of Izyum in the Gusarovka, Bolshaya Kamyshevakhi and Vernopolye areas and southeast of Izyum in the Dovgenkiy and Raygorodok areas.
“Russian efforts south of Izyum likely changed from key measures to subordinate actions, which are increasingly aimed at supporting offensive operations around the Liman. Offensives in both the southeastern Kharkiv region and the north of Donetsk region are now subordinated to the dominant Russian efforts in the Donbas – the encirclement of Severodonetsk, ”the analysts say.
Assault on Severodonetsk
Russian troops continued the ground assault on Severodonetsk on May 29, but experts cannot confirm any concrete achievements of the occupiers in this direction.
The occupiers intend to cordon off Severodonetsk and Lysychansk and cut the main Ukrainian land lines in this area. In addition, the invaders tried to advance into Severodonetsk from the south from Bobrov and Ustinovka.
Severodonetsk remains under the control of the Ukrainian army, despite the statements of one of the leader of the invaders, Ramzan Kadyrov, about the capture of the city. The Ukrainian defenders even carried out a limited counter-offensive and ousted the Russian grouping from Toshkovka.
Closing the highway
At the same time, the infidels continue to try to advance towards the border of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions, as well as to capture the Lysichansk highway – Bakhmut to cut off the supplies of Severodonetsk and Lisichanskaya. Therefore, they decided not to focus on advancing to Bakhmut, but to fight around Vladimirovka, Vasilievka, Kamyshevakhi and Mironovka.
