Russian terrorist troops are increasing pressure on Bakhmut and are trying their best to cordon off the city. They squeezed the Ukrainian defenses from the north and south of the city, and now they are trying to push the ZUS out of the east.
This was told to Channel 24 by a military analyst, a major in the reserve of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war Alexei Getman. According to him, some units rotate the military to attract new forces, and give people who have been defending for several months an opportunity to rest.
Expect official information
Aleksey Getman said that there are several sources of information about the events in Bakhmut, but we need to wait for official information from the General Staff.
Deputy Defense Minister Anna Malyar officially said that we sent additional units there for reinforcement. What is happening there at this moment is not known for certain, – said Hetman.
He also added that the military, who are on the front line and independently comment on the ongoing events, do not have complete information about the picture of hostilities. They do tell the truth about what they see, but they cannot analyze the whole situation because they are not given all the information that the General Staff is planning.

He explained this by the practice in the NATO armies, when only information relating directly to their sector of the front is brought to the military.
“It is not necessary for an ordinary soldier to give information that does not directly concern him, because if he is captured, he simply does not know what he will be asked during interrogations. And there are also means that make a person tell the truth – certain chemical drugs,” Alexey Getman explained.
There was no command to leave yet
The military analyst suggests that the conflict between PMC Wagner and the Russian Ministry of Defense is over. According to Aleksey Hetman, PMCs can pose a serious threat if experienced military personnel remain there, who have been there for 7 months and have studied the area and their mistakes very well.
While there was no command to leave, we will hold positions there. Soldiers must follow orders from the leadership. If a command is given to leave, we will withdraw, but not just in the field, but behind us is Chasov YAR, Konstantinovka and other fortified areas in which we can defend ourselves, – said the major of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Aleksey Getman believes that Bakhmut is already so destroyed that it is difficult to defend there, so it is worth retreating to more fortified areas.
How is the situation in Bakhmut
