Izyum direction continues to be one of the hottest in Kharkiv region. The invaders are preparing to attack in two directions at once.
The Russians are conducting aerial reconnaissance
The press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the Russian invaders are replenishing material and technical reserves in the Izyum direction.
Aggressor troops are preparing for further offensive operations in two directions:
- Izyum – Barvenkovo;
- Izyum – Slavyansk.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russian military is conducting aerial reconnaissance.
In the Izyum direction, supplies are being replenished, units are being trained for further offensive operations in the Izyum-Barvenkovo and Izyum-Slavyansk directions. The enemy is conducting aerial reconnaissance, – the message of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reads.

On May 5, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a counteroffensive in the Kharkiv and Izyum directions. In response, the Russian military is trying to interfere with our defenders.
The Russian armed forces have strengthened the grouping in the Kharkov direction, but do not carry out offensive actions. Also, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine informed that near Izyum, the Russians want to attack in the directions of Suligovka – Novaya Dmitrovka and Suligovka – Kurulko.
It is important to note that the Russian military continues to cynically shell civilians in Kharkov and the region. Recently, the aggressor troops fired cluster shells at Izyum and blamed Ukraine for this.
The Russians also attacked the Kharkiv region on May 8. Explosions were heard in the city of Bogodukhov in the evening immediately after the air raid alert was announced. Veterans of the Second World War also suffer at the hands of the aggressor. In Zolochiv, the Russian military cynically shelled the house of Ivan Lysun, who was left homeless at the age of 97.
The head of the Kharkiv regional military administration, Oleg Sinegubov, reported that the Russians were carrying out chaotic shelling. He also said that near Izyum the occupiers had significant losses, but continued to test the strength of the Ukrainian defense.
