The Russian invaders are trying to strengthen their positions in the Zaporozhye direction. In particular, the invaders continue to create their own lines of defense.
Military expert Oleg Zhdanov spoke about this in a stream on his YouTube channel, Channel 24 reports. By the way, the invaders are building fortifications right on the beaches of the temporarily occupied Crimea.
The invaders are also actively digging trenches in the occupied part of the Zaporozhye region.
“The Russians would dig up the entire steppe if they could, and block it off with defensive structures. They are concentrating everything they can there,” the military expert said.
Columns of enemy vehicles
Also, according to Zhdanov, local residents often notice columns of enemy equipment. One of these was moving from Novoazovsk in the direction of Zaporozhye.
In addition, representatives of the civil-military administrations of the Zaporozhye region, in particular Melitopol, stated that Russians were transporting new equipment in these convoys.
I watched one of these videos, which was filmed during the passage of the column through Melitopol. The trawls were mostly loaded with motorcycle leagues. Such vehicles are used as means of transportation, but not as a combat unit,” Zhdanov said.
The military expert noted that Russia, of course, is transferring equipment to the Zaporozhye direction. But so far there is no confirmation that these are combat vehicles.

So the people call MT-LB – a light armored multi-purpose tractor. Such a conveyor is designed to transport people and goods, and is also widely used as an artillery tractor.
The occupiers are afraid of the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Zhdanov is convinced that the Russian invaders launched such activity in the Zaporozhye region because they are afraid of a counteroffensive by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
It seems that even somewhere in Papua New Guinea everyone already knows that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are preparing for an offensive in the South of Ukraine. Most likely, these will be Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. Everyone is discussing this, and Russia is also preparing for this,” the military expert noted.
Zhdanov clarified that the fact that the counter-offensive actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will begin in these directions is dictated by logic. However, of course, no one knows exactly what the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will do.

The Russians overthrow the troops in the Zaporozhye and Luhansk directions
The occupying army is terrified of attacks from the Ukrainian military. Therefore, the invaders are trying to actively patch up holes in their “defense”.
Now everything is concentrated around Bakhmut in the Donetsk region, where the enemy has thrown all his forces. However, the occupiers are trying to pull these crumbs of the remaining troops to the Zaporozhye direction. And also to Lugansk – a division from Belarus is being overturned there, – said Zhdanov.
The military expert noted that the division, which the occupiers are pushing into the Luhansk region, is very strange.
The Russians have problems with personnel
After all, the enemy unit for some reason has only 5 thousand soldiers. Although, in general, a motorized rifle division consists of 10-12 thousand personnel.
Perhaps the Russians have such a staffing of divisions due to a lack of personnel and problems with equipment, Zhdanov suggested.
He added that a very similar pattern was observed during World War II.
“Back then, instead of 1.5-2 thousand people, there were 500-700 soldiers in the regiment. But this was considered a regiment in the Soviet army,” the military expert said.
