The Russian occupiers claim that they have already approached the central districts of Bakhmut, they completely control the routes around it and that Ukraine allegedly “lost” the city.
Political scientist, serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Kirill Sazonov noted that the situation in Bakhmut is indeed quite difficult. The fiercest battles continue, in which the Armed Forces of Ukraine, border troops, the National Guard and the police take part. He told Channel 24 about this.

According to him, the enemy is gradually moving forward, climbing into the city, trying to bypass it.
In Bakhmut, the Russians rested quite hard, because there, in addition to “mobiks” and other “urkagans” from the PMC “Wagner”, there are enough professional military – paratroopers, attack aircraft, “Wagnerites” who are military men, not convicts. The occupiers are leveling Bakhmut with everything they can,” he stressed.
Sazonov stressed that the Ukrainian military did not receive an order to retreat. They keep the city.
“A couple of days ago, the commander of the Ground Forces, Alexander Syrsky, came. He met with the commanders of the units. He immersed himself in the situation. He supported the fighters. He is a master at making decisions unexpected for the enemy, and he will come up with something,” the political scientist noted.

In his opinion, the Russians celebrate the victory early, especially since they have already “taken” Bakhmut an infinite number of times.
Even when Bakhmut was in the rear, and we were in Lisichansk, the Russians had the task of taking the entire Lugansk region by June 14, and the entire Donetsk region by July 14. This date has been postponed several times. The last one is to take the entire Donetsk region by March 31. So far, they are not very successful,” he said.
The serviceman added that the occupiers are afraid that the Armed Forces of Ukraine may go from Kremennaya to Lisichansk and cut them off. Therefore, in the Kreminnaya area, they also actively climb. And they also gathered all the forces that they could – even a train with equipment and fighters was brought from Belarus.
“But we will hold out as long as necessary, and if there is an order, we will retreat to already prepared positions. And let the invaders prepare for a “goodwill gesture” in Donetsk. We will be there soon,” Kirill Sazonov stressed.
