Russians scare with a possible explosion of their cars in Poland/Liga.NO

A subsidiary of the Russian company Novatek announced a possible explosion of its railcars currently in Poland.

It is known that 500 railcars are filled with liquefied petroleum gas. It is they who, as they are afraid in the company, can explode.

The company stressed that an explosion can occur due to the physical and chemical properties in the case of:

  • a longer parking of these wagons on the tracks,
  • increase in outside temperature.

Novatek was asked to take steps to bring these gas wagons to cargo terminals.

How the carriages ended up in Poland

The carriages were stopped as a result of sanctions imposed by Poland. Warsaw approved its first sanctions list, which included the Russian Gazprom, a number of Russian and Belarusian oligarchs – a total of 50 legal entities and individuals.

The purpose of the sanctions is to limit the ability to finance the war in Ukraine by economic entities operating in the territory Poland. The law on sanctions applies to oligarchs doing business in Poland.

Poland's new sanctions against Russia

Polish Ministry of Internal Affairs recently announced the introduction of new sanctions against Russia and Belarus. They will concern 35 companies of the two countries and 15 Russian oligarchs close to Putin. Restrictions will apply to Gazprom, Novatek, Kaspersky Lab. Also for the oligarchs Oleg Deripaska, Mikhail Fridman, Viktor Vekselberg and others.
