Invaders shell Sumy and Chernihiv regions

Recently, Russian invaders have intensified shelling of Sumy and Chernihiv regions. In particular, yesterday, May 28, the invaders attacked the Sumy region twice from aircraft. They launched 9 unguided missiles, three of which hit two border settlements in the region. Shell fragments hit a kindergarten, a church and several private houses. One woman was injured as a result of the blow.

Also, the Sumy region is shelled daily from mortars. Chernihiv region is somewhat rarer, but in recent weeks, shelling of border areas has become more frequent.

Russia is again gathering troops to the northern borders of Ukraine

  • Recently, the American edition of the Washington Post announced that Russia has again begun to build up troops and equipment near the border with Ukraine, namely to the Chernihiv and Sumy regions.
  • About 7 weeks have passed since the Armed Forces of Ukraine ousted the invaders from the Sumy and Chernihiv regions. People are slowly starting to return to their homes, but the border guards believe that it is too early to return, because the enemy shells the border settlements every day.
  • The head of the Chernihiv Regional Police Department urged to remain calm and said that there is no need for evacuation from the region so far. If such a need arises, this will be reported. The situation is now under control.
  • Meanwhile, Ukrainian border guards are preparing to hold the line in case of a second invasion, as this risk exists.
