The Russian enterprise “Zavod Signal” in Ulyanovsk has patented a new drone . Interestingly, it is identical to the Iranian kamikaze drone Qasef.

The publication states that the Qasef has advantages in flight range and warhead power compared to the Russian Lancet. Previously, similar drones were seen among the Yemeni Houthis, supported by Iran.

What is known about the new Russian drone

At the beginning of 2024, it became known that Signal Plant plans to start producing drones with the involvement of schoolchildren and students. The type of drone remained unknown until now.

The publication notes that the Russian plant is located near the Volga River, which provides convenient logistics for the delivery of spare parts.

According to journalists, the Qasef drone has the following characteristics:

• launch weight 85 kilograms;
• warhead 30 kilograms;
• fuselage length 2, 88 meters;
• wing span 3.25 meters;
• flight range up to 100 kilometers.

The publication notes that the Qasef is an improved version of the Russian kamikaze drone Lancet, surpassing it in flight range and warhead power.
