The confrontation between the Russian Ministry of Defense and PMC “Wagner” has long gone beyond the information component. Now the conflict has turned into a struggle for physical existence.
This was told to Channel 24 by the military-political observer of the Information Resistance group Alexander Kovalenko. According to British intelligence, the trip of Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu to Ukraine was a response to Yevgeny Prigozhin.
After all, the leader of the Wagnerites recently boasted about how he visited his mercenaries on the front line. However, according to Kovalenko, now relations between these 2 structures have become so aggravated that it is no longer just a banal competition.
Today, the Russian occupation forces use the Wagner PMC in the area of the Bakhmut bridgehead solely as a human shield, the military observer said.
Wagnerites are sent to the first lines. And they are followed by regular troops.

Kovalenko is convinced that Prigozhin has long since lost his monopoly on warfare. Now the owner of PMC “Wagner” does not even remotely resemble the “star” personality that shone in the media in 2022.
In fact, the Russian Ministry of Defense is destroying the Wagner PMC by actions at Bakhmut in order to pave the way for its private military company Patriot,” the military observer explained.
Sergei Shoigu and his colleagues from the Russian Ministry of Defense are trying to promote their NDS and further involve it in the fighting in Ukraine.

The debut of PMC “Patriot” did not work out
According to a military observer, the Ministry of Defense planned to arrange a debut for its PMC near Ugledar. But these plans were prevented by the crushing defeat of the 40th and 155th separate brigades of the Russian marines.
Due to the defeat of these units near Ugledar, it was not possible to pave this path of popularity for the Patriot PMC. Therefore, in fact, it is now in the shadows, – said Kovalenko.
However, according to him, as soon as the Wagner group disappears altogether, the Patriot PMC will come to the forefront in the war against Ukraine.
