Despite the weakness of its military-industrial complex, Russia has enough money to develop it. Moreover, many countries are not averse to making money on this, like Iran.

Deputy Director of the Center for Army, Conversion and Disarmament Research Mikhail Samus outlined the state of the Russian military-industrial complex for Channel 24 . As you know, the aggressor country will spend almost a third of the new budget on war.

“Russia can build up its military potential – during 2022–2023 it received hundreds of billions of dollars for oil and gas. If this continues in 2024, then Russia can do anything with that kind of money,” Samus stated.

We can only hope that most of this money will still be stolen . But even their remnants are enough for Russia to buy manpower, as well as weapons and military equipment through various schemes.

Russia is dependent on other countries

“The Russian military-industrial complex cannot independently meet the needs of the armed forces, especially in high-tech industries. For example, they buy drones in Iran,” Samus noted.

Since an aggressor country can build up its military potential, it is important for Ukraine to achieve parity. We cannot do this without the help of Western partners.
