Repairing Western equipment in Ukraine, as well as training our military, are the two main proposals of French President Emmanuel Macron, which are supported by our head of state Vladimir Zelensky.
The President of Ukraine spoke about this in an interview with the military man, presenter and journalist of the Vikna-noviny program Orest Drimalovsky, as well as Lyudmila Dobrovolskaya, journalist of the TV channel Mi & ;#8212; Ukraine.
— There are several proposals from Emmanuel (French President Macron, — Ed.). I supported several proposals publicly and in conversation with him. This is to train our guys here so that this mission can come from one state or another. I think this is much faster than sending our brigades, and then they have to come back and gain combat experience here, on this equipment, — he said.

According to the head of our state, this will speed up the process of training the Ukrainian military.
— Second — build repair hubs to repair all Western equipment in Ukraine. In some regions underground. We are already doing some things and we see how much faster it is than sending our own equipment. We received some equipment three months ago, — said the President.
Zelensky also sees no reason to abandon the border mission.
— He (Macron, — Ed.) offered to be at the border. How can we refuse? If they offer and come, then we will only support, — says the head of our state.
Foreign troops in Ukraine
In particular, Zelensky said that he himself had not personally heard from Macron any proposals regarding sending troops to participate in hostilities. Also, the head of our state is not ready to call for such actions.
— To be honest, I did not hear the details of the discussion between Macron and partners. I really want to hear from Macron. But I want to explain my attitude. Today I cannot say: come on, armies of the world, come to Ukraine and fight. Because Russia will raise hype in the world. It will begin to raise the awareness of the societies of other states that this is not their war, it will begin to promote the unity of Europe and NATO, — Zelensky noted.
He stressed that this is very risky for Ukraine, since, in his opinion, it will affect the provision of military assistance.
— If I come up with such an initiative, then Russia will do everything to stop military aid for us. We have citizens of other states who come to fight for Ukraine, and we will never be against someone who wants to help us, — said the President.
Recall that at the end of February, Macron, after a meeting of EU leaders, allowed the sending of Western troops to the territory of Ukraine, but at the moment the allies have not found consensus on this issue.
Only four countries supported consideration of such a proposal — Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Canada. However, most NATO countries reacted disapprovingly.
