The outflow of royalties and payments for copyrights to Russia will stop from Ukraine. The Supreme Court invalidated the agreement with the Russian copyright holder ALL Music Publishing LLC, with which the Ukrainian enterprise World Musica interacted.

The company declared itself the owner of the rights to musical works on the territory of Ukraine by a large number of performers (in particular the music catalog of Kobalt Music). The resolution of the Supreme Court of Ukraine has already been published in the register.

The Ukrainian radio station Hit FM actually stopped the attempt of these two enterprises to collect funds from domestic radio broadcasters in favor of the Russian company.

The market reacted positively to the fair and completely a logical decision of the court, since this made it impossible to indirectly siphon off funds to sponsor Russia’s war against our state.

A similar case, but based on the claim of the radio station Melody FM, will be considered by the Supreme Court on September 27 .

Its director Tatyana Frolova expressed hope that this time the court will also make “the only true and fair decision in favor of the Ukrainian radio station”.

In Ukraine they are proposing to introduce fines for listening to Russian music in public places. The corresponding bill No. 9547 was registered in the Verkhovna Rada in early August of this year.
