According to data transmitted from the Ukrainian underground, as of January 2024, Russia concentrated about 35 thousand Russian Guardsmen in the occupied territories of Ukraine.

It is indicated that half of them are regular formations, which are distributed into a brigade, 5 battalion tactical groups and 44 tactical groups. The rest are more than 100 consolidated units, which are imported from the territory of the Russian Federation on a rotational basis. Consolidated units are formed from among OMON and SOBR officers.

— In addition to service vehicles and armored fighting vehicles, these units are armed with tanks, artillery systems, and helicopters. And they use this entire range of weapons to pacify those who disagree with the Russian occupation, — the message says.
These units were used to protect “polling stations” on WOT during the pseudo-referendum in September 2022 and pseudo-elections in September 2023.
In addition to carrying out actual combat activities against the civilian population, employees of the Russian Guard are actively involved in propaganda events in educational institutions.
