In the Kherson region, the main goals of the Ukrainian Defense Forces remain control over the bridgehead on the left bank of the Dnieper and pushing back the Russian occupiers in order to save peaceful cities from artillery shelling.
This was stated by the head of the intelligence center of the Estonian Defense Forces Ants Kiviselg. According to him, the Ukrainian Armed Forces were able to hold their positions on the left bank of the Dnieper River.
“Now I don’t see and don’t believe that the Russian army will be able to push Ukrainian units across the river. If this happens, it will definitely be the decision of the Ukrainians,” he believes.
How the weather will affect Russian attacks
According to retired Estonian colonel Hannes Toomsalu, the weather affects the ability of the Russian army to use unmanned aerial vehicles.

He noted that Shahed attack drones are destroying Ukrainian air defense forces, but there are significantly fewer of these UAVs than in the summer.
– Another question, where are their missiles? They were also produced. This week the Iskander-K flew, which is not even a ballistic missile. X-22 Storm is a terrible old rocket that crashed near Zaporozhye. It is not clear what condition the Russian army is in,” he noted.
According to ERR, Russia is unlikely to achieve success in the event of assaults to advance into Ukraine in the near future. However, the number of attacks by Russian occupiers on critical infrastructure in Ukraine will increase significantly after the onset of frost.
What's happening at the front
The publication's journalists noted that the situation at the front has not changed significantly over the past week. Now the overall intensity of hostilities has decreased, except for the Avdeevka area. There, on the contrary, attacks by the Russian army intensified.
Estonian experts are convinced that the decrease in military activity was directly affected by worsening weather conditions and the onset of cold weather.
