After the start of the full-scale military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine in 2022, the entire political system of the Russian Federation joined in support of the Kremlin’s general line, given that the Russian Federation would capture Kyiv in three days and change power in Ukraine. The split has already begun

Russia met with resistance not only at the military and diplomatic level, but also at the information and ideological level. The resistance of Ukraine broke the plans of the political groups of the Russian Federation, and after the first month of the war, these groups began to conflict.

This year, the Russian Federation should hold local elections in Udmurtia, Yaroslavl, Tver and Sakhalin, but, for example, all the state money of the Russian parties is spent on supporting the humanitarian situation in the territories of southeastern Ukraine occupied by the Russian Federation. For example, for the maintenance of occupation administrations, etc.

The leaders of Russian parties in the regions began to express their dissatisfaction with the federal center due to the fact that it was originally planned to spend party money on regional projects, and now they are being told to switch to self-financing.

In order to reduce the tension of the conflict, the general council of the United Russia party is holding a series of regional forums with local centers and regional leaders. Recently, such a forum was held in Nizhny Novgorod, where the Secretary of the United Russia General Council and one of the main political figures of the Russian Federation in the occupied territories of Ukraine, Andrei Turchak, called on party members to rally around the war against Ukraine and not conflict within the party.

Such forums are being held in all regions of the Russian Federation, starting from mid-April 2022, as sources in the Russian Federation told me. Such actions are necessary to prevent the development of internal political conflicts in United Russia, since the conflict began to grow.

The war has driven a wedge between toads and vipers

In addition, internal political conflicts occur in other parties RF. There are several dividing lines between them regarding the military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, there are “aggressive-radical” and “moderate” political groups within almost all Russian parties.

This does not mean that some of the party functionaries of the Russian Federation support Ukraine, first of all, they are dissatisfied with the fact that they cannot “cut” party and local budgets in the usual mode, as well as receive less subsidies from the federal center, because after the imposition of sanctions, the Kremlin revised the subsidized policy of the regions.

On April 28, a round table was held in the Russian Federation for representatives of the parliamentary parties of the Russian Federation, at which they heard reports on their participation in the military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. The event was organized by an expert institute for social research close to the Kremlin. It was attended by the Liberal Democratic Party, “Fair Russia”, “United Russia”, “New People” and, in addition to reports and fiery speeches, they also expressed general complaints and a lack of understanding of the actions of the federal center.

The Communist Party ignored this event, because holds a “dissenting opinion” and now demonstrates support for the head of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Nikolai Patrushev, and tries not to react to any initiatives of the deputy head of the presidential administration, Sergei Kiriyenko. And this gathering of parties was initiated by him.

Any internal political conflict in the Russian Federation is positive for Ukraine, because the collapse of empires begins with conflicts at the regional level, which is an indicator of political instability within the Russian Federation.

Observing and studying internal political processes in the Russian Federation, I am convinced that ethnoseparatist processes will also be added to this crisis. Consequently, this will intensify the global crisis in the Russian Federation and lead to the collapse of the “evil empire”.
