Russian military command convinces Vladimir Putin not to negotiate an end to the war in Ukraine, but on the contrary advocates an escalation of hostilities.

On air on Channel 24, expert of the Ukrainian Prism Foreign Policy Council Alexander Krayev named 2 specific reasons why Russian security services and military officials are not ready to stop the war, despite unprecedented losses at the front. Note that since February 24, 2022, the Defense Forces have eliminated more than 800 thousand Russian soldiers.

Why are the Russians leaking such information

The logic of the Russian machine is based on the fact that Russia cannot be defeated. Russian generals have been taught since their first years at military academies that Moscow cannot lose because Russia has the second largest nuclear potential.

If Russia starts losing, it will launch nuclear weapons. The so-called dead hand effect. This is a key element of Russian blackmail, which the Kremlin uses against the West, Krayev noted.

According to him, it is not surprising that the Russians allegedly leak such information to Western media or analysts. They are passing off wishful thinking as reality and trying to convince everyone that if Russia starts losing, it will destroy the world.

“Accordingly, the West's task is to ensure that Russia does not lose. The Russians are posing such a complex equation for the entire West to solve,” said the expert of the Ukrainian Prism Foreign Policy Council.

What the Russian command is afraid of losing

The second reason is more pragmatic. Let's imagine a situation where we have to negotiate, where the Russians will have to make concessions and agree on something, and then explain to the population why Ukraine still exists and why the world still speaks Ukrainian.

Following the example of all dictatorial regimes, we need to find the guilty. Guess who Putin will blame? Of course, his generals, who did not take Kyiv in three days, – Krayev explained.

Therefore, it becomes clear why Russian officers are afraid of the end of the war, because they will simply become unnecessary. Moreover, they will be made guilty of everything that happened.

Therefore, the Russian military has two options:

• conduct this war as long as possible and earn unprecedented money from it, then they will be safe;
• hand over Putin, pin all the sins on him and get out of the water half-dry.

By the way, the losses of Russians in almost three years of the war against Ukraine are greater than the number of soldiers who died during World War II on the Russian side.
