Russia, which has the largest nuclear potential in the world, has worked out the launch of Iskander ballistic missiles. It is these missiles that can carry a nuclear weapon.

The training took place in the conditions of “radiation and chemical” contamination

The German edition of Spiegel writes that the Russian army in Kaliningrad worked out a simulated launch of Iskander ballistic missiles at military targets of a mock enemy.

It is reported that the Russian military performed “electronic” single and group launches. The Russians simulated attacks on:

  • launchers of missile systems;
  • airfields;
  • protected objects;
  • a cluster of military equipment;
  • the command posts of a mock enemy

Spiegel reports that the launch of the Iskanders was carried out “under conditions of radiation and chemical contamination of the area.”

Journalists believe that this “should be taken as a signal.” They also stressed that the Russians chose the place and time of the exercise for a reason.

“Kaliningrad is a Russian enclave on the Baltic Sea between two EU and NATO members, Poland and Lithuania. Therefore, neither the place nor the time of these exercises is were chosen randomly,” writes Spiegel.

Russia threatens with nuclear weapons

Russian propaganda has long accused Ukraine and the West of threats to use weapons. However, it was Russian President Vladimir Putin who at the end of February ordered to put nuclear weapons on alert.

It should be recalled that Putin threatened to use nuclear weapons if the West intervened in the war in Ukraine. Recently, Russian propagandist Dmitry Kiselev threatened that the Kremlin could destroy the UK.

Russia has one of the largest nuclear capabilities, which includes 4,500 units. Most of them are weapons of tactical impression.

Note that US President Joe Biden said that Russian threats to use nuclear weapons are a sign of Putin's desperation and indicate the failure of his plan.

At that At the same time, Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland said the United States takes Vladimir Putin's threats of nuclear war seriously. The head of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Bob Menendez, also believes that Russia can use its nuclear potential.

Against the background of Russian war crimes in Ukraine, President Vladimir Zelensky also does not rule out that Putin will strike with nuclear weapons.
