Can Severodonetsk be blocked
The Interior Ministry claims that Severodonetsk will not become a new Mariupol. This is because even though the invaders have blown up all the bridges to the city, they will not be able to encircle it. The defenders have the opportunity to retreat to Lisichansk, where there are more advantageous positions.
Advisor to the Interior Minister Rostislav Smirnov assured that Severodonetsk could be encircled only together with Lisichansk and other cities nearby. The occupiers had such attempts, but so far it is impossible.
The Russians captured, destroyed and moved on
Gaidai said that the enemy is trying, except Severodonetsk, capture Toshkovka, where the amount of destruction is increasing daily. Also, the Russians mercilessly burn the villages of the Gorskaya and Popasnyanskaya communities.
“Everyone remembers the terrible picture of the occupied Novotoshkovsky. This is not a rare case – the Russians do not think about the future of settlements. They seized the land, destroyed houses, hospitals and schools – and went further. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are holding back the enemy as soon as possible,” Gaidai said.
He noted that on June 15, another assault on Toshkovka was repulsed. Also, the invaders are leveling Viktorovka, Novoivanovka, Volcheyarovtsy, Nirkovo and other settlements to the ground.
According to the head of the OVA, for 4 months the invaders have not been able to take Severodonetsk, which is a key point in the system of the defense operation of the Luhansk region .
