The Ukrainian Armed Forces have managed to stabilize the situation in the Pokrovsk direction of the Donetsk region, thanks to which Russian troops have not made any advances there for the past six days.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, General Alexander Syrsky, spoke about this in an interview with CNN.

According to the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, despite the recent successes of the Russian army in this direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces managed to stop the advance of enemy troops.

— Over the past six days, the enemy has not advanced a single meter in the direction of Pokrovsk. In other words, our strategy is working, — he said.

General Syrsky explained that the Armed Forces of Ukraine deprived the enemy of the opportunity to maneuver and transfer reinforcements from other directions.

— And this weakening is definitely felt in other directions. We note that the number of artillery shellings, as well as the intensity of the offensive, have decreased, he said.

Earlier, the head of the Pokrovsk GVA, Sergei Dobryak, said that defensive fortifications were being built in some areas of Pokrovsk in case of street fighting, but most of the fortifications around the city were erected back in 2022.
