Considering military logic, the Russians “allowed” Ukraine to gain a foothold on the operational-tactical bridgehead in the Kursk region. The raid gradually turned into a powerful operation.

The Ukrainian military controls over 1,000 square kilometers. Retired Colonel of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, pilot instructor, military expert Roman Svitan suggested to Kanal 24 further prospects for actions in Kursk region.

What has the inaction of the Russian authorities led to

Svitan noted that the Defense Forces have begun to erect fortifications on the occupied bridgehead: they are building fortifications and mining the security zone. The inaction of the Russian authorities indicates that they are inviting the Ukrainian military to go further. Since they still haven't transferred reserves from the East.

The Russians are trying to form a group from private security companies, the Akhmat special forces unit, conscripts, people who have no combat experience at all, guards of airfields and military facilities. The Kremlin traditionally throws soldiers to their deaths without creating any kind of coercion and without trying to stop the Defense Forces. They seem to be exerting pressure, but not enough.

In the coming week, it will become clear how seriously the Russians are taking this problem. If they withdraw reserves from the Eastern Front, they will have to stop the advance there. If they do not do this, they are invited to move further to Kursk, Bryansk and Belgorod regions, – the military expert noted.

Such a scenario is beneficial to Ukraine, it will help to level the front line so that fortifications and minefields are on Russian territory towards Moscow. It is necessary to create a line of combat engagement, turning the front from eastern to northern. The main movement is towards the Muscovites. We will create serious pressure, the Russians will be forced to withdraw troops from Donetsk to cover the capital.
